Today, I’m featuring all things Showit 5, the drag and drop website builder. In fact, I’m such a big fan that I based my entire business around it!
I hear you. You’re thinking what’s the big deal about Showit 5, Vanessa? And isn’t it just for photographers?
Well, stick around because today I’m listing my top 10 reasons why I love it and why you should host your website on it too.
And no, it’s not just for photographers. It’s perfect for anyone that wants a perfectly custom, one-of-a-kind, polished website. If that’s you then keep reading!
Ok, I know this is an obvious one but it’s a pretty important feature. You’re probably thinking but aren’t Wix and Squarespace drag and drop website builders? Yes, they are however Showit 5 is the ultimate drag and drop tool. Think Adobe for web designers.
Unlike Wix and Squarespace where you are limited to working with boxes and grids, Showit lets you place anything anywhere on your canvas! Yes – anything anywhere.
Think Illustrator or Photoshop meets the web design world. An icon, a line, a piece of text can be placed anywhere on the canvas.
It literally is a blank slate and the options to make a completely custom and unique website are endless.
You get a powerhouse of a hosting combination with your subscription.
Showit 5 has partnered with Amazon Web Services for your website hosting and WPEngine for your website blog.
Allow me to get a little techy here for a bit. While I think your web design is really important, all the visuals in the world won’t make up for a poorly performing website.
Some benefits to this hosting combination include:

The basic makeup of your Showit website is canvases. Page canvases are specific to an individual page and site canvases are replicated elsewhere in your site. What’s great about this is you can reuse sections from one page onto another for repeat elements like a footer, testimonial or FAQ.
The other cool thing about canvases is you can create multiple views. Have you checked out my about page? See the “Reasons why we’d be a good match” and “This Polish girl loves all things Italian” sections. I use canvas views twice on that page to make my website completely interactive and more engaging for readers.
The only limits with canvas views are your own imagination!
You can make anything stick! Stick to the top, bottom or sides of your website. I love this feature for elements like navigation menus or social sharing.
👉🏻 See my search bar & blog categories menu on the desktop view? What about my logo and header navigation menu above 👆🏻? Two perfect examples of the sticky feature in action!
WordPress is completely integrated into Showit 5 so you can match your blog perfectly with the rest of your website. This means you get to enjoy all the amazing features of a WordPress blog without the hassle that typically comes with one!
Having your mobile and desktop builder side by side means you can edit both versions of your website at the same time. Also, changes made to one view will apply to the other when in this dual-screen mode.
The other great benefit to having a separate mobile website builder is you can completely customize the look of your mobile site from your desktop site. This allows for an amazing mobile experience that no other drag and drop website builder can match.
Mobile usage is growing every year and now exceeds desktop as per research by Stone Temple. Also, this trend is shifting even faster than expected! A measure of all web traffic in the US in 2017 showed 63% came from a mobile device.
Regardless of how you decide to build your website, make sure your mobile experience is great!
Do you use an email marketing tool? What about a client resource manager? What about Facebook Pixel, Google Analytics or Pinterest for Business? Maybe you need to integrate a booking calendar or an online quiz?
Showit makes it so easy to embed code into the head of any web page or into a canvas section of your website. Of course, because it’s such an amazing drag and drop website builder, you can even size the embedded code and customize the final look for both desktop and mobile.
So not only is this easy to do, it will look as great as the rest of your website as well!
It’s so easy to get carried away with this feature, but used properly it will give your website a beautiful flow.
Just like you can drag and drop anything on the canvas, you can add movement to any element on the page! Think images, text, icons, etc. These are the types of features that will set your website apart from any others out there!
