I’m excited to share my latest project with you – creative direction & web design for a local coffee shop, Cravings Coffee.
Cravings Coffee in Delta BC has been locally owned and operated for over 24 years. They are well known and loved within their community but were looking to build brand awareness online.
Coffee Shop Web Design & Creative | Cravings Coffee
To capture the essence of the shop, we knew captivating copy was a must for the website. In came copywriter Amy Roberts to work her wordsmithing magic. When Amy came up with the tag line “We’ve got what you crave” the rest of the creative fell into place.
It’s worth the investment to clearly define your business values before starting any design. A clearly articulated vision is so important. It will drive the rest of the creative in a direction that supports and uplifts your business.
With purposeful and concise website copy in place, next came professional photography. Denise of Esined Photos was able to capture the experience that Cravings Coffee offers its clients. The photo shoot focused on the fresh baked goods and beverage selections.
Once all the pieces were gathered, I was able to complete the website re-design. Gillian opted to stay with GoDaddy’s website builder. While the layout options are limited, the minimal look of the site really made the words and visuals stand out. Have a look at this local coffee shop web design here!

Lastly, if you are considering a GoDaddy website builder site, here are a few things you may want to consider:
- Colour options are very limited. You can select one brand colour using any HEX value but other colour accents would have to be incorporated through photography or graphics.
- Font selection is also limited to one and the text areas have character and size restrictions. This presented some challenges in laying out text hierarchy.
- A small selection of website layout options. You choose from their collection of themes and library of layout sections.
